Mom2Mom is a confidential 24/7 peercounseling helpline (1-877-914-MOM2) directed by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–University Behavioral Health Care for mothers of children with special needs throughout New Jersey. Calls are answered by mothers of children with special needs who have been trained as peer counselors and who have the support of mental health clinicians. In addition to this free helpline, Mom2Mom offers live chat with peer counselors on its website (mom2mom.us.com), Mom2Mom support groups and resilience-building events, and a Mom2Mom network of resources. Mothers who call the helpline are matched with peer counselors whose children are similar to those of the callers.  The counselors follow up with callers on a regular basis.
