Does your child love dinosaurs? Miss walking through the halls of prehistoric exhibits to admire these creatures from our distant past? If so, you won’t want to miss this day-long, virtual event called DINO FEST. The Newark Museum of Art will present a spectacular virtual celebration of dinosaurs and fossils for the whole family. Filled with fun, interactive activities and performances from 10am until 6pm, you and your child will be able to play, see, learn, and ask experts all your dino-related questions, and discover our prehistoric past from the safety and comfort of your home. All sessions will be accessible on Zoom and Facebook Live.  

Community Day Dino Fest schedule of events is as follows:

Storytime Live with Field Station Dinosaurs, 10-10:45 am 

Join us virtually at Field Station Dinosaurs for a dino-inspired reading and songs. Then, with the help of Mary H., the Museum’s science educator, use materials found around the house to make and hatch a DIY “dino egg.”

Learn how to draw a realistic dinosaur with Dino Art, 11am-Noon
Bob Walters and Tess Kissinger operate a dinosaur art studio, where they create Paleontological life reconstructions, dinosaur illustrations, as well as dinosaur and prehistoric life sculptures. Join Bob for a lesson in drawing a dinosaur. Learn how to create features and effects that make your drawing come alive.

A dance party with dino puppets? It's the only way to wrap up our prehistoric day! Don’t become a fossil; join us and shake your tails off with Imagine That!!!  To help make this session fun and interactive, the video feature will be enabled and participants will be visible to all those in this session. (Please note that by joining in, you are allowing others to see you.)
