We recently ran a contest on our Facebook page asking you to share your favorite holiday traditions. We got an impressive number of responses and thought it would be fun to share! Here are the top 20 things our readers will be doing to celebrate the holidays. How many have you done so far? Maybe it will inspire you to add a new tradition in your family.
- Drinking egg nog and decorate the tree
- Making paper rings to count down the days until Christmas
- Find the Elf every morning with your children
- Spending time with family good food, lots of love & appreciation for what we already have....
- Volunteer at a community center, the kids donate one toy of theirs that is in really good condition, and we help feed those less fortunate than us.
- Watching A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve and eat meatloaf, red cabbage, and mashed potatoes for dinner - The Parker family (from A Christmas Story) special.
- Making hand print ornaments
- Going to Radio City
- Host a Christmas party and have Santa make an appearance
- Get dressed in PJ’s to drive around to see the Christmas lights
- Make and decorate gingerbread houses
- Baking Christmas cookies and singing Christmas carols
- Sitting by the fire drinking hot chocolate
- Ride the Polar Express
- Having family time and going on vacation to see Christmas in other parts of the world
- Making Christmas crafts with the kids to give as gifts to family
