Fulper Family invites you to Fall Harvest Festival
Have you ever “herd” of a Harvest Festival taking place on a real, operating dairy farm? Fulper Family Farmstead; NJ’s very own 106-year old family farm is hosting its Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. Rain date of October 25th. The Fulper Family invites you and your family for a real-life farming experience.
Watch them milk their cows starting at 3 p.m. in the 16-stall herringbone milking parlor, fill up the bottles with the milk and feed the baby calves. Climb up the ladder into the seat of the harvesting equipment and see the fields from the farmers’ point of view.Weather permitting, take a hayride to the fields and watch them harvest their crops with the Combine. If you’re lucky, you may even see a cow give birth! Not into farm chores? Enjoy an unforgettable afternoon of delicious, farm fresh foods from Fulpers’ dairy products and other local farms. Entertainment will be performed byReel to Real; a popular local band. There will be plenty of activities for all ages, including hayrides, an on-farm photo booth(self-serve), face-painting, pumpkin bowling, corn hole, pumpkin painting, caramel apple dipping, cookie frosting, and more! Did you know that the Fulpers have been recognized nationally for their sustainability efforts? Learn more about their renewable energy and composting systems. Interested in the farm’s history and how it all began? Relax and watch the slide show which highlights the farm’sevolution throughout the last century, enjoy learning about the farm’s history at the educational booth under the chicken coop, or chat with the oldest living generation; Bob and Sally Fulper. Finally, what better way to end the afternoon than with desserts, like Q’s cookies and a cup of hot apple cider to go! Don’t forget to sign up for the raffle for a chance to win a 1-night stay for 2 at Chimney Hill Inn, wine tour and wine tasting at Unionville Vineyards, Farm Tour @ Fulper Family Farmstead, basket of local dairy and farm fresh foods, dinner for two at Lambertville Station, valued at $450.
