Go Outside for Some NJ Winter Fun 2019
Head outdoors this winter!! What a great way to exercise, build muscles, stimulate the heart, and improve coordination and balance. Try your hand at cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-skating or horseback riding. Lace up the boots, put on a coat, grab some gloves and enjoy a nice winter hike. New Jersey and the tri-state area is a winter wonderland with plenty of fantastic family destinations for day trips or longer getaways.

Visit the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island! Frequent departures from NY and NJ. Ellis Island is open so go explore and learn about your ancestors!
Go Hiking or Walking
Winter fun doesn’t have to include just snow and ice… why not try hiking trails of adventure. Put on a hat, lace up the boots, grab some gloves and enjoy an invigorating winter hike. Dozens of NJ State Parks await and many trails remain open. Check out nature centers and State Parks.
Go Ice Fishing
Fishing is not just a summer sport. Some NJ parks are stocked in the winter so now is the perfect time to lower your hook.
Go Pond Skating
Skate the old-fashioned way, outside on a frozen pond. There are quite a few NJ State parks that offer pond skating BUT make sure to call ahead to see if the pond is safe. NEVER skate on a pond that is not properly marked!
