St. Patrick’s Day Parades, Events, & Fun All Month Long

It’s the time of year to eat corned-beef and cabbage, wear green, and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in NJ. This year bring your little leprechauns to one of these great family-friendly parades and celebrations happening throughout the month of March. Get in the spirit of the holiday with the sound of bag pipes, marching bands and more to celebrate Irish culture.

Sunday March 1

Irish Festival at Garden State Discovery Museum - 11 - 3:00 pm; There will be plenty of fiddles, harps and tin whistles doing the jigs, reels and hornpipes of the Emerald Isle. 2040 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ

Belmar Parade -Starting Time 12:30pm: Main St. Lake Como& Belmar; Parade is held rain, shine, snow or sleet!!!

Saturday, March 7

South Amboy Parade - Step Off at 2:00pm; there will be many bagpipe bands, marching bands, civic and non-profit organizations showing their support for the city and the Irish. They aim to bring you a Family Fun event for all.

Ocean County Parade – Starts at Noon on the Boulevard in Seaside Heights; Hundreds of kilts, pipes and drums, local high school bands, floats and more.

Nutley Parade - Beginning at 1pm at Franklin Avenue - Nutley, NJ

Sunday, March 8

Asbury Park Parade –Starts at noon. It’s their second Paddy’s parade this year. It starts at the boardwalk and travels through downtown to Main Street. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, neighborhood and school groups, cheerleaders, bagpipes, businesses and more.

Rumson Parade - Beginning at 1pm in downtown Rumson. The 2015 Parade will feature bag pipe bands, floats, marching bands, Irish step dancers, antique cars, and much more.

Woodbridge Parade - Step Off at 1:30PM; the community will start their day at 9:00 a.m. at the town hall with a flag raising ceremony. The parade will start at 1:30 p.m. at Woodbridge High School.

Friday March 13

Newark Parade – 1:00 pm 80th Year of the Parade in Newark “Keeping the Tradition Alive” Route goes from the Prudential Center on Mulberry Street past Four Gateway Center, NJPAC, St. Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral, and the Newark Museum

Women of Ireland at the Mayo Performing Arts Center -8pm A Family Friendly Show - Get in the spirit for St. Patrick's Day with the spellbinding talents of some of Ireland's finest female vocalists, musicians and step dancers as they celebrate Irish heritage and its rich tradition of song and dance. Saturday March 14

Atlantic City Parade - Beginning at 1pm at States Avenue, marchers will travel on the world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk to Albany Avenue

Bayonne Parade - Starting promptly at 1pm – Broadway from 5th St to 39th St.

Hamilton Parade - Parade starts at 1 pm and begins at the Nottingham Fire House located at 200 Mercer Street in Hamilton, NJ

Morristown Parade - Join them for a day of music, dancing, floats and family fun. Parade day begins with Mass at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 91, Maple Avenue in Morristown. The parade starts at 12:00 Noon near the corner of South Street and James Street. It proceeds up South Street around the Morristown Green and Ends at Atno Avenue.

Union County Parade - Step Off at 1pm The Marching units gather at Morris Avenue and along Commerce and Jeanette Avenues, the parade route proceeds east along Morris Avenue to a turn at the Main Reviewing Stand at Stuyvesant Ave. and ends at Roosevelt Avenue. The "Kid's Zone" fun for all ages --- Stuyvesant Ave.(just off Morris Ave.)

Sunday March 15

Bergenfield Parade - 34th Annual Bergen County St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at 2 pm at 200 Washington Ave, Bergenfield NJ.

Hackettstown Parade - The parade kicks of at 3:30 pm with Mr. & Mrs. Murphy leading the over 70 participating groups including Irish bands, Community Groups, Bagpipes, Drums, Centenary College Clubs and Groups, Horses, Dancers, Fire Departments and Rescue Squads and hometown favorites the Junior and Senior Colonial Musketeers and the Hackettstown Community Band.

Luck of the Farm: Farm Hands and House Maids at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm - Join the celebration of the Irish who worked at Fosterfields during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Help with farm and domestic chores, and tour The Willows to discover what jobs house servants performed for the Foster family. Tuesday, March 17

The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade is our country’s oldest and proudest Irish tradition, marching for the first time more than 250 years ago, on March 17, 1762 - fourteen years before the Declaration of Independence. The Parade starts at 11 AM and can be viewed on 5th Avenue between 44th Street and 79th Street. If you are not in NYC, you can watch the parade live on NBC Channel 4.
