GPS: Summit Ave. & Broad St.
Mabie
is a great spot to stop if you are walking around downtown Summit.
Partly fenced to the busy street, this playground is a favorite in
warmer weather for its location, partial shade and picnic tables. A hot
dog vendor is usually stationed by the park, but there are other options
nearby. No sandbox, but the bocce courts attract young sand
enthusiasts.
Make a Day of It: There isn’t any shortage of
restaurants in Summit, but on a warm spring day Applegate Farms on
Beechwood Ave. is a perfect stop. The train station is a block away
where you can see the tops of trains pass below you via large glass
windows.
