ICA Summer Chess Day Camp

For over 30 years, the International Chess Academy (ICA) has offered an enriching Summer Chess Day Camp for new and experienced chess players. ICA combines rigorous chess instruction with engaging and creative recreational activities, helping children develop skills that extend far beyond the chessboard! Decision-making, strategic thinking, and good sportsmanship are all developed - while having fun and building life-long friendships.

Our Summer Camp program offers kids ages 6-16 the opportunity to grow intellectually within a collaborative and fun environment at our Glen Rock and Teaneck locations in New Jersey. With a 6:1 ratio of campers to counselors designed to maximize personal attention, students are well engaged in classes, learning chess tactics and enhancing their critical thinking skills!

8:45-9:10 - Check in
9:10-9:30 - Outdoor Fun & Exercise
9:30-10:30 - First Chess Lesson
10:30-10:40 - Snack Break
10:40-11:25 - Second Chess Lesson
11:30-12:20 - Sports Groups/Soccer & Dodgeball
12:30-1:00 - Lunchtime (bring your own lunch!)
1:00-2:00 - Tournaments
2:00-3:00 - Simul/Puzzles/Art/Math
3:00-4:00 - Math/Art/Sports/Chess/Mind Games
4:00-4:10 - Snack break
4:10-5:00 - Math/Art/Sports/Chess/Mind Games
5:00-5:15 - Pickup
